Since its inception, the entrepreneurial idea behind Dimsi has been built on the awareness of the potential of the Sicilian territory, in which the company operates and believes. Let’s retrace the steps that have brought the Dimsi holding company to where it stands today:
The business initially focused on the tour operating industry. Dimsi entrusted the promotion of Sicily as a destination to its proprietary brands: the TO Dimensione Sicilia and later the Sicilian Secrets product line. These brands became the company's primary tools for marketing Sicily, supported by the expertise of industry professionals and the provision of high-quality services.
Dimsi's organizational structure expanded to focus on the marketing and management of hospitality properties in Sicily. Over time, the company developed and managed eight properties, offering more than 2,800 beds and approximately 1,300 rooms. These properties cater to both the business market and the leisure segment. Each new acquisition was paired with significant investments, both in design and financial terms, aimed at continuously enhancing quality standards.
Aware of the evolving dynamics of the tourism industry, Dimsi undertook a thorough and comprehensive phase of economic and financial evaluation that led the company to expand its business focus. Therefore, Dimsi now also directs its attention to advisory services for the design of innovative hospitality structures, aiming to explore new concepts of accommodation that align with the needs of both present and future travelers.
The construction project for a new-concept building, ibis Styles Catania Acireale (initially branded as All Seasons), part of the international Accorhotels network, was launched. The hotel is designed to provide innovative hospitality services, catering to a diverse range of commercial and leisure clientele, with particular focus on segments characterized by an average spending capacity.
The President Hotel has historically been a key hospitality landmark in Palermo. It joins the AccorHotels network as the ibis Styles Palermo President, where it will remain until July 2025. Management activities are complemented by renovations, which include a progressive renovation of some of the rooms, along with the common areas, meeting rooms, dining areas, and internal bars. The renovations are based on a minimalist concept with bright colors and hues that create a completely innovative atmosphere.
The Saracen Sands Hotel & Congress Centre in Isola delle Femmine (PA), a tourist complex surrounded by nature, is acquired. Starting in early 2017, a comprehensive restyling project is launched to reposition this significant asset of the local economy, ensuring it achieves the prominence it deserves.
The management of the Cristal Palace Hotel begins, and in 2019, it joins the Accorhotels network, adopting the name ibis Styles Palermo Cristal.
